Rhetorical Analysis Body Paragraph (3/3): AP Lang 2017

Ms. Luce ended her speech with a smoothing and hopeful tone. She establishes a contrast between trend “that is wrong with the American press” and “much that is right to it.” She further praises the American newspaper by calling the U.S. daily press “the best press in the world.” These commendations would allow Ms. Luce’s audience to be more confident after becoming disappointed with Ms Luce’s criticisms, therefore better digest the valuable advice inside her criticisms to make American press better with more integrity.
