Rhetorical Analysis Introduction Paragraph: AP Lang 2017

When opinions become biased and facts become ridiculously wrong for the sake of invoking sensations within a newspaper’s audience, the whole newspaper industry, and in this case, the American press, lose it virtues and become corrupted. In an effort to warm American journalists against this, Ms. Luce, in her speech at the Women’s National Press Club, warned these journalists of such harmful journalizing trend. Through metaphor of herself, repetition and parallel of ideas, and shifts in tone, Ms. Luce endeavors to expose and critisize the problem of using prejudice by American reporters to urge them to gain journalistic integrity.
