Recommendations for Standardized Tests: How to get your dream score?

Though many universities, prestigious high schools, and other academic institutions are more loose on requiring standardized tests, they are still very essential. In other words, it is better if you have them than not. So, how to prepare?

  1. Learn the basics + recent updates

If your knowledge on TOEFL Junior, SSAT, TOEFL, and SAT are still like "They are some sorts of multiple choice tests." Then you should definitely consult their official website (E.X. ETS and College Board) and learn about what's in the test: the time duration, types of sections, and whether they are on paper or digital, etc. Many of them are providing new forms of test taking experiences, such as from paper to digital devices, so be sure to check them.

2. Prepare for them

Probably the most significant and challenging part of taking the test. For long term, you should definitely do A LOT OF practices, whether unofficial or official mocks, AND read a lot of books. These experiences would fundamentally boost your abilities and confidence at taking tests like TOEFL and SAT.

Also, be sure to

1. Search on Youtube to see the highly popular videos on doing these tests' free responses.

2. Search Khan Academy! They have one of the best SAT preps of all time. (Be sure to check explanations for each question)

3. Download TOEFL TPO or 小站托福 to get lots of free TOEFL practices. (Be sure to check explanations for each question)

4. If necessary, one could seek test prep organizations.

3. Prepare YOURSELF TWO WEEKS before the test

Your ID, your pencil case, your health, etc....

Good luck!
